Huntsman, cool choice

Hundreds and hundreds of your classmates from all over central Kentucky are jamming phone lines right now at Huntsman Photography in Versailles, trying to reserve the last few available summer senior portrait appointments.  Year after year, Huntsman remains the studio of choice for seniors who want creativity, variety and individuality in their portraits.  Here's why seniors choose Huntsman.

You'll Have Fun!

At Huntsman, the emphasis is always on you.  We make the senior experience of having your senior portrait taken a blast!

Your session should be fun-- because if you're having a great time, you'll feel good.  And if you're comfortable, you'll look terrific! (Check out what your friends say on page 3).

You'll look incredible.

Think picture taking has to be awkward, with fake smiles and bogus, boring backgrounds?  Think again.  At Huntsman, you select the styles of photography you like (see page 3).

Your photographer, Dave Huntsman, Master Photographer, Photographic Craftsman, knows exactly what to do to make you look your very best (he's been at it now for 18 years).

He'll help you select backgrounds and props to fit your outfits and personality.  He'll listen carefully to your ideas and requests.  You'll get what you want.

You'll love your portraits.

The biggest fear many seniors have is, "What if they don't turn out?"  After all, you don't get to see the results until after you've paid your money!  The friendly folks at Huntsman want to put your mind at ease.  They're so confident you'll be thrilled with your portraits, that they have the only Money-Back-Guarantee in the area. (See the last page).

You'd expect a guarantee like this from the senior portrait leaders--that's because Huntsman delivers, time after time!

Ok, so how much is it?

What you pay for your senior portraits is important; but what you get for what you pay is even more important--THAT'S Value!

Exceptional Values.
What is it that makes Huntsman's senior portraits such a good deal?  First, you get to decide not only on the styles and quantity of poses you want in your session, but you also determine the exact number of photographs you will need; there are no required packages of any kind.  If you need one portrait, you can get just one.  If you need seven, or forty-eight, then that's what you can order.  It's easy!  The Reflections session requires a minimum purchase of $400 but there is no minimum purchase for the other two senior sessions.

Choices For Every Budget.
Gift portraits are available individually (A La Carte) from $59 to $69 for 8x10's (depending on quantity and finish), $49 to $59 for 5x7's.  But our special collections can drastically cut your cost per photograph; they start at $135 and go all the way up to $780 for the "Ultimate Collection."  Most of the packages allow you to choose from multiple poses, as well.  So your choices are many, the flexibility unlimited.

No Hidden Costs.
This is what really sets Huntsman's work apart from the rest.  Included with every portrait are the most important things you often pay extra for at other studios (or aren't even available).
Each pose is carefully touched up to remove unwanted zits and bags under the eyes.  Then every portrait 8x10 and larger is covered with a durable acrylic surface for protection.
Also included are free plastic wallet boxes and a yearbook picture made to your yearbook's exact specifications.*
*We will provide a pair of yearbook prints given 2 weeks delivery time.  We will provide digital prints for shorter delivery time and when photographic prints aren't required.

Choose your session

At Huntsman Photography, your session will be as unique as you are.  Each session is "clothing driven", so you can customize your session simply by the clothes and props you bring.  Want the traditional look?  Great!  Bring traditional clothes and you get simple, but interesting backgrounds, like your parents did, but updated for the 2000's and beyond.  Want black and white?  We can do that, too!  Black and white is available from all of your poses.  We can even mix and match black & white and color of the same poses.  You can even bring in your collection (stuffed animals, sports, hobbies, musical instruments, etc…).  You’ll be photographed with the things that make you who you are.

Classic $40
Our Most Popular Session
Studio and Outdoor portraits with up to 3 outfits, the Classic enables you to get contemporary poses for the look that says this is you.  You'll also be able to make mom and dad happy with the Classic Portraits that stand the test of time, simple but interesting backgrounds with the classic lighting and posing.  You can be photographed on a variety of sets and backgrounds including outdoors.  This session is approximately 1½ hours.

Traditional $30
Our 2nd most popular session
The basic session is designed for those who want to have really good senior portraits without all the fuss of changing clothes a lot.  You can use two outfits and get Classic Portraiture with one outfit and the casual you in the second.  You'll also get a few outdoor poses to add additional variety to your proof choices.  This session is approximately 1 hour.

Reflections $60
If you like variety and love changing outfits, the Reflections is for you.  With this session you can wear up to four outfits.   You'll get all the variety and more of the Classic and Traditional sessions.  Outdoors is also a part of the Reflections; we’ll do several poses with at least two of your outfits in our outdoor studio.  A minimum order of $400 is required.  This session is approximately 2 hours.

*If you aren't absolutely thrilled with your original proofs, just tell us and we'll make more to your liking at no extra cost or you'll get your session fee back.

*Plus, if your finished portraits aren't exactly as you thought they would be, let us know and we will have them made to your satisfaction, again at no extra cost.  Or get your entire portrait deposit refunded.

You probably won't need to use this guarantee, but it's nice to know it's there.  We sweat the details, so you don't have to!

F Y I
What do I do now?

1.  Bring examples of your favorite portraits with you.  Look in magazines or on CD covers for the styles of portraits you like.  It's easier to make you happy if we know what you like.  If you don't have any preferences, don't worry, we have plenty of ideas.
2.  Bring your favorite CD's, Dave LOVES music and you'll be more comfortable if it's something you like.  If you don't have any, or if you forget, you can choose the radio station of your choice.
3. If you wear glasses, borrow a set of empty frames from your optician.  For people with glasses, this is the single most important thing you can do to make your pictures look their best.
4.  Not sure what clothes to bring? We usually suggest a dressy outfit for the classic look for mom and dad. The rest is as different as your personality. Choose things that you would typically wear at different times of the year. If you're not sure, bring an extra outfit and we'll help you choose which will photograph best.
5.  Be sure to bring those items that will make your portrait really YOU!  Your favorite hat, a musical instrument, football or anything else that would make a statement about who you are and what you like to do.  Be sure to bring your favorite pair of sunglasses.  Guys, if your girlfriend has your class ring, see if you can borrow it back for your pictures.
6.  Dab a little cover-up makeup on those noticeable blemishes.  (Guys too.  Don't worry; we're not talking eye-shadow and lipstick here, just a little cover-up to help hide the dreaded zits.  You'll never see it in the pictures and it will make you look so much better.)  Girls, wear your makeup as you would for a formal evening event, just a little bit heavier than you would for every day.
7.  PLEASE COME ON TIME not too early and not too late.  Being late will only result in you feeling rushed and gives you less time spent on your photography.  Being too early just means you'll have to wait. Come with your make-up and hair ready, dressed in one of your outfits. That way the time we spend with you will be on photography not waiting for you to get ready.
8.  TANNING - You can look more tan simply by bringing a couple of light colored outfits.  Light colors make you look darker without necessarily being darker. Also you can use tanning creams to enhance your skin tone.  I guarantee that those gorgeous tans you see on TV came out of a bottle.  Above all, don't over do it, either with creams or with tanning.  You don't want to look too dark and it's impossible to retouch a peeling nose or bright red sunburn.
9.  Try to have your haircut or perm done at least a week before your session.  Don't try a new hairstyle right before your pictures.  This isn't the time to experiment.  Guys be sure to shave just prior to coming in.
10.  Go ahead and invite your Mom or Dad, sibling or friend to come along if you think it will make you feel more comfortable.
Come prepared to have a GREAT time.  YOU WILL!
11.  Any questions?  Give us a call (859) 873-6901.

An Important Note to Parents
Don't take it too personally, but a lot of Seniors, (especially guys) would feel more comfortable if you weren't there for their pictures.  A lot of parents are as excited about their children's Senior pictures as they are and they want to be there.  That's understandable and if your son or daughter had made it clear that they want you to come along, you're more than welcome.  We love for parents to see us at work but, be aware that sometimes having Mom or Dad watching over the photographer's shoulder doesn't help to elicit the most comfortable or natural expressions and, in the long run, that's the most important thing.

How Do I Get There?

We are located one mile west of the Bluegrass Parkway in Paddock Subdivision. From Lexington take Versailles road to the first traffic light after Bluegrass Parkway, turn left onto Paddock Drive (you'll see the Ukrainian Church on the left), go to the first four way stop and turn left onto Yorkshire Ct. (Derby Court is on the right). The studio is the first house on the left in the circle and is built onto the front of my house.

If you're coming from Frankfort or West of the Parkway. Stay on US 60 East; go past the K-Mart / Kroger Plaza to the next traffic light. Turn right onto Paddock Drive (you'll see the Ukrainian Church on the right). Go to the first four way stop and turn left onto Yorkshire Ct. (Derby Court is on the right). The studio is the first house on the left in the circle and is built onto the front of my house.
